CIVIL RIGHTS ROAD TRIP 2013

Ten Days: Washington, Greensboro, Atlanta, Birmingham, Selma, Montgomery, New Orleans, Little Rock, Memphis

The ten 16X20 panels in this series are an unedited sequence of photographs from a ten-day road trip to sites of the civil rights movement in the 60’s. These sites of bravery, focus, belief and brutality have a power that eludes a single image. The sheets unveil themselves in a line, a journey of complexity, depth and nuance.

The video is a complete, unedited, high resolution sequence of all the photographs taken. It is meant to act as a reference and support for the abstraction of the printed image.
